Eric is the Chairman of Whistler Capital Partners. Prior to the formation of Whistler Capital Partners, Eric was a Senior Advisor to Starr Investment Holdings. Previously, Eric worked at Goldman, Sachs & Co. for 49 years, serving as Partner, Founder and Global Head of Equity Capital Markets, as well as a member of the Commitments, Capital, and Operating Committees of the firm. Eric received the first Lifetime Achievement Award from International Financial Review (“IFR”) and the Special Award for Equities in honor of IFR’s 35th anniversary. In reporting on Eric’s retirement from Goldman Sachs, the New York Times referred to Eric as “the father of the modern-day initial public offering of stock.”
Eric serves on several corporate and advisory boards and as a trustee of the Dobkin Family Foundation.
Eric received an A.B. with honors from Marietta College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He also received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from Marietta College.
